Finished this as a birthday "surprise" for a friend, Todd Jensen. The original color was burgundy -the photo was a bit faded. Homemade decals. The model is a replica of his Dad's (Carroll) '37 Ford that he race in the mid-1950s at Tunis Speedway in Waterloo, IA and surrounding county fairs. Todd himself has raced over fifty years, mainly in the IMCA modified division.

WOW ! That is super cool. The good ole days. I remember when they sat out on the streets like that.
John beat me to it. WOW! What a great looking model, and accurate to boot! Beautiful build, Bob. I give the #11 an 11!
This was car racing not wallet racing. Innovation was the name of the game. I love these old cars, they're a window into how these guy thought.

THANKS John, Marty, OND, David, Tom, Hondo, Ed, Tony, and Rett! It was a fun build - tried to make it as factual as I could with what knowledge I had of the car. It seems to be more gratifying to build something for someone other than yourself. Todd was surprised and really liked it!
Everything is OUTSTANDING this is a great replica. Even though I never saw the car race you have really captured the look and feel of the car based on the pic of the original and where did you find the chains for the doors?

,paint, and , graphics. You really captured that period look! Love those hogged out fenders!
Very nice. The engine details are superb !
By the way folks, chain like what's on the doors can be found at Hobby Lobby in the necklace crafting area. If you need smaller quantities - visit the jewelry department of any of the big box stores (ie: Walmart, Target, etc)
