Got this one done after 3 months. Amt kit purchased at Walmart. 145 hours. It's one of those sealed hood models with molded in seats and exhaust so lots of cutting and adding is required. I also tried to change the automatic transmission underneath to look like a manual trnasmission. I have always liked the look of the 64 Ford, so I bought 2 more of the kits. This is the car That Ned won the Dixie 400 in that year.

Very nicely done, as are all of your NASCAR builds. Even though in '64 I was a strong Chevrolet fan, I did enjoy watching Ned Jarrett race.
....Another outstanding build and really enjoyed reading the W.I.P and its related history.
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate the kind words about the build.
Love this car. Ned was one heck of a wheel man. Job well done!!!
Rett
Love any and all Ned Jarrett builds. You did good here!
All your work resulted in a great looking model!
Thanks again, guys.
very nice build.
Beautiful looking build Mark. Looks great!
Really nice build and homage to a really nice guy! Well done.
Thanks again guys for resurrecting this build from a couple of years ago.
Great looking Galaxie Mark. Always liked Ned, seemed like a really nice guy.

I agree completely with you Steve about Ned Jarrett. He was a great driver and person as well. My only beef with him is he told on Rex White for fudging the rules on his 61 Chevy entry for the Southern 500 that year. His car was disqualified before the race and Rex had to drive Jack Smith's Pontiac for the 500. I think Rex had a car that could have won that race if it had not been disqualified.
I guess it happens. When I was racing, I never protested anyone even though I knew some were illegal. They protested me several times. No honor among cheaters I guess.
Very nice work Mark!👍 I remember the WIP on the MCM fourm. You did a really good job turning that kit into a race car. I've always thought the 64 Galaxie was a great looking car
Steve, I know cheating is not right but having the engine back a couple of inches doesn't seem like that big of an advantage back then. Rex and Ned were in a tight battle for the championship that year and Ned ended up barely beating Rex at the end of the season. It was Ned's first of two championships. Rex had won the championship in 1960.

Thanks, Catpack for your thoughts on the build and wip. I had one 64 kit that I made a replica of Tom Pistones 64 Ford that he campaigned in 1966. When Amt brought the kit back and sold it at Walmart I snapped up 2 more.
