Title: Work in Progress 2nd gen Roger Bolliger Trans Am 1:24 scale Slot Car
Post by: volkerc on August 04, 2024, 07:38:01 AM
Model Kit: Revell 07672
Stock Car Chassis: Revell/Monogram
Slot Car Chassis: Thunder
Tires: Ortmann Number 1, 17x28.5
Rims: Ortmann Aluminum 22998
Wheel Inserts: 3D printed
Tire Stencil: Mbm Munich, 20,7 mm
Decals: Terry Borchers special order
Photoetched parts
Paint: Automotive 2k, Clear Coated decals (2k as well), sanded with up to
4000 grit and polished

Decided I show this before it is finished, taking my sweet time with it.
This car is being driven by Roger Bolliger. I have changed the fenders, spoilers,
door ...to match the real deal closely. Unfortunately this race car undergoes so many
changes especially when it comes to decals so that I have decided to pick the look I like
the most. Big shout out to Terry Borchers who helped me get the decals right and went
the extra mile, pretty sure he aged a lot more having me as a customer. In the end the result is awesome.
Still have to work on the interior, the driver figure and some final details.

I would be afraid to put something that beautiful on a slotcar track. At least if I remember correctly the way I used to drive  :-[ . That is one extremely nice piece of work, really mirrors the real one very well.
