:) Does anyone remember who built the 3 window ' 36 Ford coupe, red, number 909 on Fred's ? A real old war horse - heavily aged, with the exhaust streak down the side, and pretty hefty tires ? And the trimmed front fenders ?
May have been R and B 11. I sure would like to talk to the builder about it.
:) I have just started the AMT ' 36 Ford 3 window. Wondering about the compatibility ( in real life ) of some parts. Planning to build it as an early modified.
I want to use the pie face wheels on it, because I have never had one with those. That would seem to call for narrow tires.
But, I also want to use the Pontiac engine with 3 carbs. I am tired of building flatheads. Not sure all that would be true to life. What do you guys think ?
Of, course it is my model, so I guess I should do whatever I want to with it. It is just plastic.
Is it this one John?

:) :) As Pat Sajak would say, " Yeah, that's it. " I have a picture that is the other side. I do not know how to scan it for this forum.
Rick, I will send you a pm about it soon. I have several chores I need to do.
Thanks very much.
OK I'll get with you later. Gonna go pick up some BBQ
Rick :)

:) Not really Tom. I am not going to try to copy it. I just like it a lot. I am not sure it is a ' 36. There must have been other pictures of it. The way he did the front fenders made me think that.
The shape of the doors and hinged at the rear would make me think it's a '34.

:) I think you are right, although I have never seen many '34 racers with fenders. Anyway it is a cool car.
:) Rick's car is a ' 34, and mine will be a '36. I wanted to check out a color scheme, so I got to fooling around with my picture of his car.
I taped it to the window, and traced it onto typing paper. Then I outlined most of it with a fine point sharpie, and colored in most of it with colored pencils. This is what I got.
Haven't done any art work in 10 years, so I am a little rusty, especially on the shading.
Will be using Greg's decal numbers. Hope that Rick doesn't mind that I did this. Thought I'd share.
That looks like an interesting project John.
Keep us up to date when you get this one on the bench.
Bob
:) Thanks, Bob. I am just getting started with it.
Really cool drawing too John!
nice drawing,in my day these were sportsman cars, some w/flatties,some with 6's,some with small block chevys.sbc's at the time could be had for $100 complete!
Hey John! I don't mind you doing that at all! I love your artwork! Can't wait to see your build!
Rick :)
:) I deleted the ugly black box where my drawing and coloring of the car in question was. Sorry, but I got tired of looking at the box. Mine was blue and white number 222.
