John A Utsman was a NASCAR driver from the Kingsport, TN area. I say "was" as he's retired. Pretty sure that John A is still alive. Both he and his brothers drove race cars. John A drove in the Winston Cup division and the Late Model Sportsman division, plus he raced on the local asphalt and dirt tracks. He drove in relief for Benny Parsons in the '73 Volunteer 500. Benny ran the last 80 laps and won.
Anyway, I got these decals from Mike's Decals a while back. Thought that I would build a more modern version of one of my favorite race cars. I really liked the clean, simple look of his #00 Monte Carlo. My car is an OOB, not highly detailed. Thanks for looking.

As you say, it's a nice clean looking car. Nice build as well. I like the stance, and that sneaky little canted front wheel gives a very real look to the build. Nice job!
Thank you Rattlecan Dan.
:) Very nice. Clean and simple. I remember the Utsman brothers.
N I c e ! Really good look. You do have an addiction for "clean" racecars
Excellent job, Steve. That model is super clean. I just wish I had more pictures of it to look at.
Thank you guys! Like my good friend Speedracer said, I really do have and addiction to clean, simple race cars. A lot of my builds only have numbers and a few front fender decals, two colors at the most.
From a guy that used to drive real stock cars, I just never went for wild multi color cars. If anything got tore up over the weekend, it would just be more to fix through the week.
Here's a few more pic. One of these days I'll start taking pictures of the motor and underneath. If you haven't noticed, I even used the old school contingency fender decals.
