This was a topic that i started on the old Randy's boards that seemed to be popular and well responded to.
After reading some back and forth about Razorback46's name and origin, i thought i would fire it up on here.
So what is the origin of your user name on here?
Mine comes from something that John Moses Browning figured out, the "perfect" angle for a handgun grip. The angle of the grip on a 1911 is 18 degrees. ;)
I'd rip around in my mini-stock mustang during the trophy dash each week. The winners of the main events from the previous week would race each other for a trophy. Outrun everything with that little 4-banger, never lost a trophy dash. The announcer started playing the music from the Speedracer cartoon during the trophy dashes and it stuck. So, I'm Speedracer! 11 seasons and 11 championships
"Slamming through, don't **** with razorback" is a line from Damage Inc. by Metallica off of their Master of Puppets album. And the 46 comes from Days of Thunder.
jh(Jimmy Hensley) 63(number used early career) fan.
Always liked him and got to be friends with him in the early 90's.
At Orange County one time, a certain driver cost him a win. I told Jimmy give me the word and I'll go whip his ---. His wife heard me and invited me to come visit them sometime. Been friends since then, built about 20 car models for him so far.
Like my buddy Speedracer's momma, I'm a HUGE University of Tennessee Volunteer fan, originally from the Knoxville, TN area. Born in 1959. Volzfan59
:) Very interesting topic.
Mine is very dull, but there is one I wish I'd used.
I used my full name on Fred's - John Gorday - and on Tom's just shortened to John 2.
There is a story. My nickname growing up was Buddy. When I went to Alaska with the USAF, I managed to see a race in Anchorage, and there was a favorite driver there named Dirty Bud Borders. Not that he was mean, but that he had once run off the track and into a stock pond, and came out covered with mud.
So, you see, I should have used " Dirty Bud."
I could not come up with anything....I liked Hot Wheels as a kid. I used this on Randy's site also.
Born and raised in North Carolina, came back here after I retired from the USAF. During my career I lived in many interesting places. Only two I would consider other than Hamptonville, NC would be Sumter, SC and Knob Noster, MO (look it up). Also a huge UNC Tarheels fan and my name is Ricky, so TarheelRick is only natural.
It´s to simple :D :D
Michael Franzen = Michael F
supergluek5= I use the small tubes of superglue(bought @ the dollar tree) to put models together(superglue). In'96 helped on pit crew of late model dirt racer in the Paducah ky. area (k5) thus supergluek5.
....The origin of my user name...been using it going on 60 years....it's what every body has been calling me for as long as I can remember ;D
But seriously, I use my birth name here and at Model Truck Builders.com. The reason being is that since I dont do social media, it makes it easier for me to tell others (fellow model builders, model club members, others that are interested, etc.) where to go look under my name. The other forums that I belong to are radio communications related, so there I am known as kd0ega, my F.C.C station identification
Rattlecan Dan. My name is Donato Antonio DiRenzo. My nickname is Dan. I do not own an Airbrush. I wish I had bought $tock in Tamiya Spray Paint.
It's what I always wanted, a '68 Roadrunner but never had. I always like Mopars, had a '70 Dart, '73 Roadrunner, '74 Duster. The '73 Roadrunner was bought new off the showroom floor a couple years after high school graduation. Nice site, reminds me of the NASCAR site I belonged to in the late '90s to early 2000's, Randy Ayers NASCAR Modelling Forum. Miss that forum and one guy in particular that was a dictionary on all things Fireball Roberts. His screen name was Mongo and I believe he was a high school football coach from North Carolina, Bill was his given name, if I remember right.

Lots of us migrated here after Randy's shut down
So far I think you are the only name I remember, I don't even remember my screen name, getting old I guess. I do remember a Dave, Luke, Jose, Tom. Someone use to talk about "Ford poppy red color" a lot but don't remember who. I do remember Jose doing a lot of Kasey Kahne Mopars, I bought a resin Charger nose from him, still have it stashed somewhere. Bill was big into Fireball, Ned,Buckshot and someone named Red. Seemed to be knowledgeable of Fords.
I am thinking my screen name was john53 or johnvan? I've had so many screen names at various sites for over 30 some years I can't remember half of them, a lot of sites are gone or went to Tapatalk which I have no love for.
