Title: Janet Guthrie
Post by: HAWK22 on December 09, 2024, 11:00:24 AM
Saw her at the 1977 Southern 500. She looked beat but stayed to sign autographs in the scorching hot sun after
the race. All the other drivers had looked for cooler surroundings.

Was such a hot humid day with a mid race shower...
Did this model years ago.

May be years old, but it still looks good. Very nice build.

Maybe did this one in the early 80's.
Keep the dust away and out of bright light
and they will last forever !!!

Fred Cady decals. Those really hold up over time. Apply in two parts.

Very seldom heard name these days. She was a pioneer herself. Nice homage. Very unique and nicely preserved build.  Nice job.

Excellent build. Would have liked to see what she could have done with Danika with equal cars today.

That's a good looking replica build. One of my favorite cars from that era. I knew that Janet Guthrie came from a road racing background. In the last few years, I've seen pictures of her in a mid 70's era Camaro late model. Never knew that she ran a late model.
