Title: New Year's Resolutions?
Post by: jh63fan on December 29, 2024, 02:06:50 PM
Anyone make resolutions concerning model building?
I usually don't, but am this year.
I have about 50 stalled projects, some as old as the late 1980's. I made a checklist on poster board of 12 cars closest to completion.
Finish one per month in 2025 and not start any new projects are my resolutions.
Maybe we can check back in at year's end and see if we accomplished our goals.
Happy New Year All!

I try and not make resolutions. I do plan on finishing our new house in January, move in February. Plan on building a new workshop for model building and fishing. Gonna get a new a new bicycle and take up riding for exercise and get back to fishing. Due to the house project, my boat hasn't moved since Thanksgiving 2023.

:) I don't make resolutions ---- but I do have some plans as to my model building, and watercolor painting hobbies.  Hopefully I can accomplish some things in both.

Never made a New Years resolution in my life but..... I have been trying to get a lot of models finished. I have a habit of working on several models at the same time and lately realized some things lying on the work bench or lying in open boxes are challenging me to remember which model they belong to. Not good, especially as you get older.

I don't have any model related resolutions for 2025  ....it's more like what I would like see get done in time for the show circuit in the up coming year.....the AMT trash truck and maybe the rehab of a 50+ year old Aurora fire truck.

Here's to healthy and prosperous 2025

Ummm, that's not healthy for the boat or for you. Boats are built to get wet and for fishing. Sure would like to see some 60's so I can take mine back out.
New Years resolutions are - nah, been there, done that, didn't work for me.

My modeling New Years resolution is the same as it is every year: enjoy it more than the year before. It's worked well for me for over 60 years now. The key is not to limit yourself. Try something new, like getting "involved" with a model forum. This is a blast!
