Title: Pontiac #39 1963 Daytona 500
Post by: HAWK22 on January 02, 2025, 10:56:51 AM
Posting some models done during the Covid-19 era. You remember the famous
statement "it will be gone by Easter" (famous DJT quote!!!).
Don't know much about this car. Big Pontiac driven by LeeRoy in the 1963 Daytona.
Must have been a local North Florida car. Used his famous #39 and sponsored by
a used car dealer from St. Augustine. No sponsor shortage on this car.
First Daytona 500 start and finished 11th.
First Daytona 500 for Wendell Scott and A.J. Foyt also.

Another excellent build driven by Lee Roy. I have never seen it before. 1962 Pontiacs in 62 were the cream of the crop that year.

Nice build. We lost him from racing too soon
