Off to a good start. Got the frame shot and built, the tire tread sanded down, the rims shot and joined with tires.
I meant to plug this spray a while ago but kept forgetting. It's $.99 at Lowe's. Well, it was $.99 last summer when I bought a few cans; maybe it's gone up, but even if it's now $1.19 that's still a good deal. You get what you pay for in that it's kind of "watered down" but a light coat dries to the touch in 10 - 15 minutes with low humidity. Just remember to shake the dickens out of it. It is much more forgiving than a more concentrated spray so you can add multiple coats quickly without it running.

Close up. For a bargain-priced paint I'd say it looks pretty good!

Funny thing, I'm just now wondering if it's available in flat white as well. If so, then white and black are your only colors.
Looking good.......
Good start Bill, i'm looking forward to seeing more on this build.
Bob
"Suzanne"?
If that's a movie or some other type of reference you'll have to clue me in David, cuz I got nuthin'. :o
I little bit - firewall shot, engine block built and shot.
I will try to get some more done this weekend and post a pic.
:) Got me on that one too. ;)
Well, that's two of us stumped. Will this mystery ever reveal itself? ;D
She was (and still is delightfully talented) a big deal back in the 1980's and 90's. Suzanne Vega. So this little Hot Rod could also be named "Luka" but the radiator must be good cause it stays right at "99.9 Fahrenheit Degrees" even if you're just running down to "Tom's Diner" for some "Caramel". When you get it on the track, we'll watch "When Heroes Go Down" as you put "Marlene On The Wall". (These are names of some of Suzanne Vega's songs).
:) Oh.
Ah, of course! Silly me! :P
Yes, I am still alive and building. Been working a lot lately; late summer through around Thanksgiving is our REALLY busy time.
I've been getting more done on "Suzanne" and hope to get more done this weekend although the weather isn't cooperating at the moment so no shootin' nuthin'.

:) Well, keep at it. I saw a Vega wagon drag car just this morning on a trailer at the I20 Texaco. I waited a few to see which way it would go, but I guess they had more time than I did.
I've been wanting to do a wagon of something, after seeing Ponch's a couple years ago it got me going on a few ideas. Just don't know what I want to use for subject matter though!!!!!! Maybe an old 60's Dodge wagon or something!!!!!!!! LOL, er not!!!!!!
Cool body for a modified Bill. Where did you pick up the Vega Body? I know this is going to be outstanding when you get it finished...

Where did you pick up the Vega Body?
Hey Gary, I got it on ebay. Just the body and nothing else. I think I paid around $18 + shipping.
As soon as I asked that question...I went on ebay and saw one...LOL Plus...Larry( BIG DONKEY) has a version of one. Thanks for the info Bill...
More progress. Things are really coming together now and I'm pretty jazzed. I will need to hack off some of that protruding rear chassis, though.
The wind has been howling since early yesterday but I believe it will die down tomorrow which will allow me to get a base coat on the body.

How about a Dodge Magnum Wagon???
Thought there was one out at one time......model wise that is.....
That's what I wanted to use for the early CBP over on Fred's site back around 2006/2007, but they had not been produced yet...
That's where the Charger came to mind.....
For those that were on Fred's site back then, there was a CBP called, "Goofy Modified". No, not the Disney character, but to see what one's imagination would have been in using the wildest body to into a modified body...
That's coing along very nicely Bill, can't wait to see her done!
Gettin' there! The primary color is Valspar "Flat Caramel honey", the exact color I had in my mind's eye when I first dreamed up the color scheme for this car 6 months ago before I even started building it.

That..my friend...looks really good. I sure like that color.

Looking good Bill.
I like the color. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product all lettered and finished.
Bob
Nice color Bill!!!!!
Bill, This is coming together nicely. I dig that color and the black wheels. Cant wait to see it finished.
that is really coming along, and the color is perfect!
Lookin real good!
Very cool, Bill!!! I'm loving the color and the overall look is killer fast standing still!!!😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏁
...I really want to get outdoor photos since they always come out so much better than indoor ones. However it's been nearly a week and the weather has not cooperated one bit. In fact, dear Mother Nature has thrown everything she can think of at me. Well, not everything; no twisters, hurricanes, or sandstorms. ::)
We're supposed to have sunny skies tomorrow maybe I can harness some of that light by photographing near the front windows.
Temps will be in single digits or close to it so outside shooting is off the table once again.
Wish me luck!
Hopin for good weather!!!!!!!
I was able to get some decent indoor shots this morning.
