I never published these pics, from my wife's cell phone, of the completed build. Hope you enjoy.

:) Yes, very enjoyable. Fantastic machines.
Thanks John, and the same back to you. I've enjoyed looking at every one of your builds, always top-notch stuff. It's fun to have a place to hang out again :)
:) Thanks, and yes, it is.
Great job on the whelen modified B.O. I really like the Cavalier bodied modifieds....they just look KOOL...
Beautiful replica build of the 61, nice work.
Bob
Fantastic job on this build!!
the Whelen modifieds are very cool looking cars
see a couple of other builds in the background of one of the pics......in particular, the Grant King sprint/supermodified that is started.....will be curious to see which way you go with that one. :)
Nicely done...

Good eye Ed. That was actually how my table looked at the previous home we lived in. We have since moved (5 months ago) and most of my things are still boxed up, awaiting the green light..lol.
I will give you a teaser for the sprinter though, I'm going for a 'what if' build. He started his career on the Firestone drag rubber, evolved with the Outlaws and 410s through the years, and still dabbles from time to time.......I'll give you a hint: I watched him win, to my knowledge, the richest wingless sprint car race on earth.

1st one who comes to mind: Rick Ferkel.....

Jac Haudenschild.....I have an old pic of him, somewhere, looks like he's about 14, sitting on the right rear of, what I believe was a Trostle chassis car, with a Firestone 500 on it. He won the Mopar Million at Eldora, '03,
great building!
Didn't think I would guess right!! LOL ;) :D :D

Rick Ferkel is a great guess though...... You have planted a seed for my next open cockpit build :D
:) Will it be # 0 ?
Remember in 1973 Rick Ferkel came out to Ascot for the Pacific Coast Open and showed all those at Ascot that a wide RR tire WOULD work at Ascot! Remember seeing some teams trying a wide RR tire, but they had no luck with it. Also Bubby Jones made the trip out as well, but picked up a ride in an older car powered by a Boss 302 under the hood. Car owner let Bubby set the car to his liking. Come the 50 lap final main event, Rick and Bubby all but ran off from the rest of the competitors, with Rick winning and Bubby not far behind.
That's what made me think of Rick Ferkel.....
Neat! I'd say Big Orange has BIG talent. Very sweet looking car!
Rett
Another fine example of your skills, Big O! Simply awesome. 8)
Thanks for the positive feedback gang. I'm hoping to finish off a couple of cars that I've had close to finished for a long time.
That is sweet!!!!!
