Title: Pinto Modified
Post by: David Bogard on January 15, 2018, 01:43:23 PM
Starting with the old Ridge Runner Pinto kit but I am making it more like one of Ed Flemke's or Richie Evans types. Filled in the wheel wells and extended the door panels and then carved out the lower window openings.

Re-cut the rear wheel wells and moved them forward and shaved off the bottoms of the door panels.

Added a full 1/4" to the roof length front-to-back.

Did some smoothing, cut the front door panels back and opened up the rear wheel wells a little more. Also got the firewall trimmed down and in place. Most of the main body work is done and now I can begin to get the motor, hood, radiator and other items up front working to match.

Looking very good David. I really enjoy seeing the way you do your body modifications. I learn something from almost everyone of your builds. Now if I could just remember it later, when I could use the things I learned.

Nice stance so far on this one david, I see you had to set the cage back also. Not much room to work with on these driver compartments.

Love it David. The Driver is one of those guys you want with you in a Foxhole when the bad guys are headed towards your location.... Good job on his surgery. I like that drill bit...Do you remember where you got it? I need something exactly like that to use like you did....Thanks.

Hey Mark, I get those driver figures from Larry at Big Donkey. They come with two different torso's and a handful of different heads that are wearing all sorts of period helmets and goggles. Here's what you get:

They are kind of a pain to get in the car sometimes but every now and then I really enjoy having a "driver" because it just adds so much to the build!

Its cool that they made it 1/25 scale, with different heads. I put a 1/24 scale driver in a 1/25 scale car once, and even though I tried to shorten him, and thin him out, it just didn't look right. Thanks for the info.
