Thank you very much Bob. It has done fairly well( 3 First place trophies ) at a few shows that I've taken it to. I'm thinking about taking it down to Phoenix Az. this Aug to the IPMS Nationals.
Gary, this is a fantastic looking model !! Great craftsmanship !!
I´m working currently on a 1/16 57 Chevy Asphalt modified and
i´d be happy if it turns out as half as nice as yours.
Work of art, pure and simple! Don't where to start.. This is one of the most impressive builds I've ever seen ANYWHERE.
John
Oh yeah!!!!
Great to see this one posted again.....!!!!
(need to post those die-cast sprint cars that you've reworked into some neat looking builds)
Thanks for the GREAT compliments Michael and John.
Michael...as Talented as you are...I know for sure your 57 will turn out awesome...Can't wait to see it.

I do want to do an Asphalt car from one of those kits. They're not bad kits...I enjoyed building the Dirt car.
Thank you for the compliment David.
Well...to me...I don't really compare scale to scale builds. I build in any scale that I think will be a good challenge and try to make it look as realistic as possible. After I built the 1/24 Featherlite Modified Mustang....I thought it would be a GREAT challenge to build a Modified that was as highly detailed as 1/24 Mustang but in 1/43rd. Now THAT was a huge challenge. A lot of the same building techniques won't work in the smaller scales. I had to come up with different ways to build things in that small scale. It sure made the mind work.
The thing about building in the larger scales is the ability to SEE(lol) all the parts a little easier....and they're also easier to handle. As far as fabwork and Detailing goes...that's easier on the larger scales too. Fixing WARPED bodies and other parts can be a pretty big challenge in the larger scales.
Now...I'm using the word EASIER a lot here but...I'm just doing a comparison from 1/43 to say...1/20-1/8th scale. Also...after you finish the large scale build...there's that thing we all run into...where is it going to be displayed. Plus...if you don't buy a display case...one has to make one. If you don't...Dust will KILL it. Of course... you already knew that...but it was a part of the thought that I was on...LOL
So far...the largest scale I've built in is 1/16th. I do have a few more of those on the list along with at least 3 1/12th and 2 1/8th. Now...doing these larger scales will be another challenge as the size screams detail and realism. soooo.....That's basically how I approach the different scales
I hope this helps you in some way David.
Thanks for the GREAT compliment David.
WOW is correct, I just keep scrolling the photos, so cool, very nice

Thank you Gary, the pictures way more then exceeded my expectations! ;D( Was that English?)
:) Marty Warner also built at least 2 1/8 jalopy cars. Quite nice, too.

Gary, this is probably the the finest 1/16th scale short track car I've seen!!! Your scratchbuilding skills and general modeling skills really shine here!!! Just an incredible work of art and it wears it's green coat well!!!
Thank you Greg. It was an enjoyable build for sure.
