Ken Weisbrod Pontiac Late Model model that raced at Pinecrest near Toronto in the late 60s. Built from the Model King Moebius 61 Pontiac Joe Weatherly kit with my decals printed by Polecat and an old set of Fred's Resin wheels.

Great job!!!!
Perfect Poncho!!!

I don't recall Pontiac having a V8 that small. 301 was the maximum cubic inches you could get out of a 283 Chevy. Any information on this engine?

Old, ya forgets that when ya stuck a 327 crank in a 283 chevy ya get 307 cubes and thats without hogging out the holes. How are you limited to 301?
I think the 301 was a simply bored out 283 with a stock crank. The 326 was actually about 338 cu. in. But GM wouldn't let Pontiac put the correct cu. in. On the fender, because it would make their 327 cu. in. Corvette look wimpy. I believe the 326 Pontiac was it's own special block, not a destroked 389. My brother had a 64 tempest that had one in it, and it sure looked smaller than a 389.
I was just curious about the 301cu. In designation on the hood, since I knew they didn't make anything remotely close to that engine size in 1961.

Generally I am no expert on anything OND but I have owned a few Poncho's and was a big fan of theirs. (Why GM killed them off still kills me!!) I had a '52 Chieftain early on that had a straight eight that was 268 c.i. and was super smooth and had unbelievable torque that would easily pull that big car up hills effortlessly. I even had one of those rubber nosed 1973 Grand Am's and the 400 4bbl in that thing was pretty quick and the car itself was just way ahead of it's time. I had several in between and for me, the Poncho's were some of GM's best cars!
My younger brothers first car was a '64 Pontiac Tempist with a 326, and a four speed. That thing could light up the tires a will. That little 326 was increadibly hot. It would run away and hide from a Malibu of the same year, with a 327 in it.
