This is a replica build of the Bud Grimm Ford being towed to the track in 1962. The car raced in central Pa and was driven by Neil Haight.
The truck is a die-cast that I repainted. The model is a 31 Ford resin body, tires and wheels all from Big Donkey resin.
All decals provided by Greg Holland. VSRN on this forum.
This picture is faded some, the car and truck were darker blue.

Greg was able to make me a decal of the MD. license plate with the correct license number.

Bob
Great looking build.
Love to see the tow vehicles with the race car.
:) Really nice, Bob. Another great one.
Very cool build Bob!!
WOW!!
VERY NICE!
That is one really neat set up! Well done. BTW, we flat towed my first car, a '56 Chevy sportsman, in 1966. It's okay until ya tear up the front end, lol.

I have alway loved '39 and '40 Fords. I guess that's because some of the first models of short trackers I built were from AMT's old black plastic offering of these kits. It has always puzzled me that AMT never added the pickup to their line. It just seemed like such a natural next move. Then when aftermarket resin parts, and conversion kits, came out I was sure someone would make a 1/25 th scale pickup conversion to utilize all those fenders, hoods, and trim, left over from all those short tracker builds, but once again I was wrong. Anybody know why?
Very Nice!!!!
Sorry I missed this one, Bob!!! Very cool, fantastic replica's and I love the flat tow set up!!! This rig's definitely right on the money!!!😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎🏁
Perfect.
That's just too cool !!
I remember when about ninety percent of the early modifieds were flat towed instead of trailered. Those that weren't driven to the track, of course. More than one racer in our town got a ticket for doing his warmup lap on the street.

Outstanding builds!

I missed this one. I think you nailed it again!
