Here is what the drivers saw looking out of these cars.

Nice job on the wiper removal. Happy Turkey Day!

MarkJ

Thanks Donato. I'm glad JH gave me that tip about the windshield might have a black border because it sure made things easier to fix. Now I need to check to see if the huge back glass had a black border as well. I owned one of these 3rd gen Camaros back in 1984, but I can't remember, so I will google it.

Started working on the window net. used some 1/16-inch crepe tape you can get at Hobby Lobby. slowly but surely kept cutting it down to the size I wanted. I made it removable. Also, it will be able to be posed laying down on the door as if the driver was fixing to get in the car.

MarkJ

Finished the window net and shocks for the front suspension. The window net is removable. It snaps into place.

Rattlecan Dan

Nice job on the net. I've tried several times to make one with the tape and never liked my results. Yours looks great. And your build looks like it's coming along nicely.

Thank you very much, Donato. This is the first time I used the crepe tape, and it was very user friendly. Just wish they made one just a little narrower but I kind of think that would be impossible. 1/16 inch is about as narrow as they can get, I guess. I used to try to cut masking tape with a #11 exacto blade into strips but the results were unusable.

Working on the front shocks. Only thing left is the drive shaft and I can start priming all the parts so I can paint them and get this build assembled. Still need to repaint the body but that should not be a big deal. I handled it so much making parts for the chassis that I really messed it up badly. Thats okay, I was never that happy with the way it turned out the first time.

Been watching this build come together, really enjoy the intricate detail you are including. You are a true model craftsman.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

Rattlecan Dan

I certainly agree with Tarheel. I too enjoy watching your skills applied, and your endless attention to detail. Thanks for your postings.

MarkJ

Thanks, Rick and Donato. I think I might be through with making parts and will start priming and painting. Then just assemble everything together and re paint the body and hopefully be able to wrap up this 16 month build.

MarkJ

Finished The drive shaft, rear axle limiting chains, and front shocks. also updated the checklist.

MarkJ

Figured out how to install the front tires to the chassis just need to make some brake calipers to make it look a little better

MarkJ

Started on the caliper. It's at its raw beginnings. Have to see if it's even feasible to make 4 of these things. Its going to have to be wider and then there may not be room for them.

Great job Mark. At this point, I'm kinda expecting this highly detailed piece to fire up and idle.
