This was the only other win for Jarrett on a big track besides Darlington in 1965.

Gentleman Ned, one of my favorite drivers of that time. Very nice build.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

:) Me too.  Me too.  Me too.

Wonder why they did a red dash.  Musta hooked it from a used racer.  Or late leaving for the track.

I took a picture of Ned sitting on the trunk of that car ( or a similar one ) during a lull in the action, at Spartanburg or Columbia, 1963.  I can't remember which, but I still have the picture.

John,
I believe this car started life off the show room as a red car. Ned always had Blue Fords when he drove them from what I can remember. Bondy Long, the owner, was partial to blue apparently. Probably easier to just let the dash stay red. Fireballs 63 Ford started off red and was painted lavender and then a pearlized purple. His dash was black though, so I guess you had many choices for the color of the interiors of your new car back then.

Thanks, Catpack. I have one more of those kits but can't decide which car to do. I agree. One of the toughest looking stock cars ever made. Always looked low and mean on the track. Maybe another Lorenzen car. He had a good year that year except for the Firecracker 400 which I heard he could have lost his arm because they shaved the sheet metal so thin on those cars to reduce weight.
