Just opened my last can of Testors Metallizer, can't believe it was not profitable enough for Rust-Oleum to continue them after the buy out.
Just wandering what y'all were using in it's place.

...I believe that Rust-Oleum has a line of paint that took the place of Testors Metallizer...the name escapes me at the moment, I want to say its "Specialty Metallic" or something like that...I have seen it at the local hard ware store that handles Rust-Oleum products.
The only heroes in Washington are buried just outside of it in Arlington

I like Aclad II better that the Testors. Must more durable. Lots of choices. But you have to air brush them.

Thanks Brian, I will look for it. Maybe instead of being modeler specific, they went after a broader market.

Thanks Len.
Are they like their chrome that you have to spray over a black base? Do you mail order yours? My closest hobby shop is an hour away and they only carry the chrome.

it was a shame that the Metalizer line was discontinued, it was some nice stuff.  i have been using Tamiya colors like metallic black, metallic grey, and bare metal for a little while now.  they also have some gunmetal tones of paint too.

No. They don't need the black base coat. Just spray them at about 15 lbs pressure for best results.

Also you can handle them after 15 minutes dry time without a problem.
