Two versions of the same Studebaker. LeeRoy won the race in 63 but totaled
the car in 64...

LeeRoy also won the Permatex 250 in 1962 driving the former Fireball Roberts
56 Ford.

Fireball is the same car with slightly different paint job and car number.

Some nice different models you've done. I like the real pictures as they show how well you did duplicating the real thing.

Very nice Hawk! This is the perfect forum for those models. Ol LeeRoy sure enough did wad up that Studebaker!

The "Super69" year.
LeeRoy won the race again as well as the Daytona 500 the next day.
Bondy Long car LeeRoy drove to a win in the 1969 Permatex 300.

But the cars were much more interesting in the early 60's.

1961 Permatex ride.
Saw LeeRoy "hotlap" this car at the Jacksonville 1/2 mile dirt track
the week before Daytona. Looked at it up close. Had square tubing
for roll bars.
