That is an immaculate looking racer Bob!  I've never built a sprint car/supermodified....always wanted to.  If I do, I'll definitely look at yours as a pattern - great job!

You did this one so well, there is something that makes it look more real than it really is. (if you can understand that). I guess its just got "that look". Well done Bob!!!

Thanks for the comments guys.

David,

I remember well when Jim Shampine got killed at Oswego. I did not know him and Dave were killed on the same day.
It's also interesting how Shampine came up with his number. I have the book written on Jim Shampine titled "The Pine" I probably read this in there and didn't remember. I have the decals now for the 10 Pins so it should be finished soon.

Great job Bob!  :) Did the hood come with the kit, or did you make it?

TonyK

You did a great job on this. Those wings are sure different; especially the front one.

Ricky,

The hood came with the kit and I had to widen it, from about the center to the front. Then I added the front extensions to the side panels down over the frame. I first used thin plastic to extend the side panels, after a few days they started to warp. I removed them and made the extensions out of thin aluminum.
