Here is another one I finished maybe about 10-12 years ago.AMT 66 Galaxie kit.Paint is MCW Poppy Red and the hood is Tamiya White with no clear.Decals are Ace/Powerslide.The wheels/tires are PPP items. The tail light covers, fuel overflow, exhaust and rear window straps are scratchbuilt.i made the fuel door from bits of plastic. It is built as a curbside model. Thanks for looking.

Very nice, I love to see people build Scott's and other independent drivers cars and you did an excellent job (maybe too nice), some of his cars could look a little rough around the edges.

If anyone seeing this hasn't read his book "Hard Driving", you will definitely gain an appreciation of him. Brian Donovan didn't sugar coat things.

Great looking build. Nice homage to Wendell.

Beautiful replica of one of Wendell's cars. Man never got his due from most people, fans or competitors. I know that some of the teams helped him out. Did so much with so little. I'm going to look for that book.

 :) Nice Model.

I would love to have the book also.  Let's share where to get a copy.

I have books on a number of drivers.

Got to see Wendell race one time when I was at Charleston AFB, SC.

:) I now see that if you put in " Hard Driving a book about Wendell Scott " and hit " Enter " you will find a bunch of them.
Look to the Lord and His strength -  Seek His face always.

Another excellent replica Catpack. I too have read the book, and it is amazing how Wendell was able to make such a long career in the sport just with his own hard work and also the help of his sons and a few drivers like Rex White, Ned Jarrett. and the Pettys. Some drivers who will remain nameless did just the opposite though and if you read the book, you will find out who they were.

The 66 Galaxie makes a big Nascar, very nice model.

:) I have the book, and am reading it now.  ( Slow reader.)

I did not realize that he had won so many races before he went Grand National.

He probably would have been financially better off if he never went Grand National racing and kept winning and placing well in the lower division.
