That pic brings back some memories, Bob.  That 55 Ford was what he was racing when I first started going to the races in CR.  I remember following him to the track once.  The engine was running while on the trailer on the trip from Atkins to Cedar Rapids.  I guess he wanted it warmed up when he unloaded.  Ahhh, to be young again....naah!!! gb

Wow! What a shock - a little weird since we've just been discussing him here!

WOW...that's some crazy stuff.  Arlo raced for 50 plus years and to die in a senseless accident is just crazy.  My condolences and prayers to his family.  gb 🙏😥

He got knocked off a bar stool by someone that crashed a truck through Checkers Tavern a few years ago.

Funny...hadn't heard about that one...🤓👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏁

Also remember a night at Vinton 20 some years ago in one of his first IMCA Gremlins.....lost the left front tire/wheel in an on track altercation...never seen a tire take off like that. Over turn 3 it went and bounced and rolled...ended up down on the playground at the school north of the track. Arlo hammered down and kept that left front spindle floating and finished the race on three wheels...lol.
