This old stock car was built by my friend Bill.

This is the number 72 built by George Renninger, of Renninger's welding shop in Northumberland, pa. The car was built in 1961 and raced at Port Royal speedway in Port Royal, Pa. The body was a cut down Crosley. The driver was Johnny Crawford from Bloomsburg, pa.

Bob -

Was that a resin body, or something Bill put together out of several bodies?

I've got a Crosley bodied car that I've been wanting to build for a long time...

Thanks,
vsrn

Greg, to answer your question on the body..

It is a 50 Austin drag car, by Revell, that was shortened and narrowed, along with some other modifications.

I LIKE THIS A LOT, IT'S RIGHT UP MY ALLEY! I HAVE THAT SAME Austin BODY ALREADY CUT DOWN, WITING FOR A FRAME!

Man...that build looks like a dead ringer for the 1/1. Your friend did an outstanding job. Thanks for sharing it with us Bob..
