Finally finished this deconstruction/ construction build. I built this 45 years ago as a Buddy Baker Charger. I didn't even paint it, just built it and decalled it. My wife found it in a paper bag in our dumper room so I decided to rebuild it into what you see now. I saw Bobby compete at Meyer Speedway in Houston Texas back in June of 1971. He had just won the Golden State 400 the Sunday before the Wednesday night they rolled into Houston on their way back east. It was the Space City 300 and he won it too. I think this might have been an ex Marty Robbins Charger. Its painted just like his cars were. It took 109 hours to complete the project.

Certainly worth the effort Mark! That turned out gorgeous!
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

The only heroes in Washington are buried just outside of it in Arlington

My first thought was.......... Marty Robbins. Yes, this has turned out very nice, Mark.
We all can rest easy that you got that front air dam thing worked out  ;D
Are those your decals as well?

(I also have one of these stripped down and will certainly use some pointers from your post as help on mine)
Great work, Mark.

Thanks guys. Yes, Jim they are my usual inkjet decals. I don't think anyone has done a sheet for this car.

Dirtman

Beautiful. And it does certainly look like a Marty Robbins car. Well done!!

Very cool model, Mark !! I´m a very big Cola Fan, so i like all of Bobby´s cars of his coke-era.

The paint sheme looks familar, look what´s waiting on my bench for completing:

Greetings from Germany!

Great job!  Don't ever recall him racing the Marty Robbins paint scheme, but I always liked it.

Thanks, guys. If you want to see short videos of the race, click on the link below. I used those videos to come up with the colors I used for my build.
