This is going to be a replica build of the Nolan Swift 10 Pins. This car originally started racing at Oswego speedway around 1961. At that time they were required to have a car body. I believe in 1962 the bodies were removed and ran as super modifieds. I'm building the super modified version.

The reason for my interest in this car is in 1964, prior to the start of the racing season at Oswego, they brought this car to Port Royal speedway in Port Royal Pa. to compete on dirt.
Nolan won one feature event before returning to Oswego for there season opening.

Original car with body.

I'm using a Tobias dirt modified kit as a base for this build with a lot of modifications.

Going to be an interesting build.  Looking forward to updates,  I'm not really familiar with this type of racer, around here in NC we mostly had coupe/sedan modifieds that transitioned to Vegas and Pintos, then to Cavaliers and now Whelen style.  Super mods have always looked cool to me.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

Why even put a body on it? Those things were pretty much like old rqail-job dragsters with a little bit of side panel. Pretty amazing that guys got in these things and drove them. This will be a really nice build to add to your stellar collection!
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

All body panels will be made from thin sheet aluminum.

Aluminum sheet I got from a model club member. This is sheeting used in printing Newspapers.
