Hey guys, I just finished this 55 Chevy. Built in the style of a 60s late model. I used the reissued AMT kit with wheels and tires from PPP and a scratch built roll cage.

Lots of good detail here, super looking car. No windshield?

Thanks Rett. Lot's of the pics I've seen of the cars in this era didn't run any glass, (for safety reasons I'm sure) but I suppose it was different from track to track and in different parts of the country.

Really nice,  Simple, straightforward,  and just enough dirt.

Oh Yes!  Only the very best....with just the right amount of dirty.  I watched many of these in the day and you nailed the flavor and look.  Very nice work Third, and if you get tired of it, send it my way and I will GLADLY display this one in front of all my gloo-bombs.  You do nice work and your weathering is great.  10 stars from me!

Thanks Lefturns, your work is a big inspiration. These cars ran before my time so I'm glad I was able to represent the era accurately.

Very sharp and reminiscent of the era!

Very nice. Really like it better after the weathering. I built a similar model out of a '55 Chevy drag car model in 1/24th scale, that I won at a model club meeting. The body was so warped that the front fenders were tipped downward. Since I'd seen this done on stock car racers, I decided to build a short tracker out of it. Mine is orange where yours is red, and I bore a line or two of trim holes along each side.

Great Job 3G.... You did a perfect amount of dirt on this bad boy. Looks like the end of the main event on a fairly dry Track. Shoot...we'd load up and hit the wash rack with the car on the trailer after the race. Not much dirt to knock off...  Here on the west coast...most of the guys ran with a screen in the place of the glass. But as it was said...it's different at Tracks across the States.

Again... Great Job...you nailed the look and feel for sure...
