My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Gator will be sorely missed, but how lucky we were that he shared his love of racing with us.

I just saw this too.

Good man, dedicated to Lancaster Speedway and a great model builder.
I'm sure he is having a time with his brother, Jerry.

RIP, Gator. You'll be missed.

Yes.  We will miss Jackie.  Great guy.  Prayers, thoughts, and best wishes to all.

I am glad he got to build a little more in his last days.

Gator has been in my prayers since he announced his cancer. I will continue to pray for the family as they mourn his passing.  I am still in mourning over my wife who passed with cancer in August.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

....I really thought that with his build post from a little over a month ago that he had beat or was beating the cancer ....I can remember a few years ago when my wife Amy was able to get back to some normalcy of life after her cancer treatment and how good it felt ...for both of us.

His contributions to the hobby where beyond average.  His detail to builds and ingenuity was often copied but never duplicated.  I was fortunate enough to do business with him a couple of years ago in the purchase of some of his vacuum formed bodies.
  He will be missed

Johnny - I purchased and built race cars from his vacuformed bodies and I still think they were the best and that they were far ahead of their time. I purchased Lancaster Speedway videos from him even though I had never been there. On some nights I plop down in my easy chair and plug in a Gator video and a couple hours later I felt like I had been siting in a seat at the track. When one of his race-night videos end you want to go out to your car and go home; except you never left home! I conversed with him on several occasions in the past and all I can say is that a true GIANT of the racing and racing model hobby left his mark. I am terribly sad that he has left us behind but I am truly delighted that our lives crossed paths.
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

Jackie was a real special guy. A wealth of information, and a ton of natural talent. And he could turn out vacuform bodies that didn't scream vacuform. He definitely will be missed.

When I saw the name "Jackie Sims", and the topic, I thought "Jackie Sims? As in Gator?" I was kind of shocked to hear that he died. I never talked to him, but from his comments, he seemed like a really personable, and good guy. I will miss his presence on the site for sure.
