As I came into the office to take a break from all of the snow plowing duties downtown today, I thought i would throw up an old video from Peoria Speedway. It was one of the features back in 1995 before the cars were all jacked up. I actually liked the racing better back then. Anyway, I have posted a link and you can start around the 56 minute mark when the feature begins. Note the move old Bob Pierce puts on them at around an hour and two minutes in. I grew up at Peoria Speedway and this is a nice indicator of what that track has been like most of its long and storied life.

I might add that if you can find and post some good racing action from your hometown track, put it up there! There's nothing much a lot of us can do for the next few days so do something productive and let us watch some of your track's racing! I'll be checking in from time to time as I take a break from plowing so give me something to watch!

Here's one from 1996. The feature starts around i hour and 5 minutes in. Watch Joe Kosiski in the red #53 car. It takes him a good 15 minutes but he makes his way through!

Reminds me of one of our southeastern Wisconsin tracks. And these boys put on some serious racing. Fun to watch.

Of all of the guys I figured that you could relate well Rett! You know how tight we like to race in the Midwest; we like 'em small and fast and multi-grooved. Find a small opening and sneak through, or make the opening a little larger if you have to!

Looked for some footage from my home short track in Charlotte, but haven't found anything yet.

Here's some good stuff from my (adopted)  "home track" in Memphis.

This facility had the asphalt track where the NASCAR Busch & truck series ran for several years and most recently, last years ARCA race.
There's also a pretty good 1/4 drag strip that hosted the NHRA for years.
This is from the Memphis short track that was leveled to make room for parking for the asphalt track. Still shaking my head at that decision.
The locals usually raced on Friday nights here and Riverside Speedway in W. Memphis, AR on Saturdays.

Lot of great sprint car racers from this area too. The Swindells, Bobby Davis, Jr, Greg Hodnett & Mike Ward. Also, Kenny Conrad is ASCS/USCS 360 racer Derek Hagar's step-father. Ricky Stenhouse is "Big Rick" as we call him. Jr or "Little Ricky" was still crawling around.

Wow! That was a "Who's Who" of sprint car racing in that feature field. Once Sammy found that cushion up top it was all over!
