Dug out some old (and I mean OLD) builds from the 1960s.  More than a couple pieces have become "unglued" over the years, and I somehow balanced them in place for the photos.  Pretty crude & rough builds, but hey, I was pretty crude & rough in the 60s also!

These belong in "The History of The Model Car" Museum! I sure wish I still had some of the ones I cut my teeth on back in the 1950's and 1960's!
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

Hey Bob, nice trip down memory lane.  Don't know what happened to my old builds - sigh, too many moves I guess and they either got lost or were too damaged to try and restore.

:)  Super cool.  Especially the 28.

It is pretty good to be able to look back and hold some of our old history right in our hands. I have a few things like that, sadly car models are not one of them. I had models from 1958 and into the mid 60's that I built. Saved the better ones. My dad gave them to my oldest son to play with when he was visiting grandpa. They are all gone. Got my trains though so not everything went that way thankfully.

My vote for "favorite" is the 58 Chevy hardtop. Did not see many of them racing in Maine. One driver had one and I read that it took him a while to sort out the suspension. 58 was the first year Chevy used coil springs in the back. They used arms to locate the axle and is similar to the NASCAR suspension of today. But back then it was a whole new world for everyone.

All of those models are nice and very nice for you to still have. Do you ever look at them and think back to those younger days any?
