I start decaling tomorrow, so these are probably the last photos you see until it's in the Showroom or whatever it's called for finished builds.

Can't wait to hear it fire up! Rattlecan is right, great job on the glass.

Thanks, Donato and Steve. I found a new clear cement for clear plastic made by evergreen the styrene people. Hobby Lobby sells it, and it works very well. Also, you can use it on painted surfaces, and it holds. Thats what I used for the hood and trunk pins.

Dave, if you're out there. I was able to decal over the left door handle depression, but the right door handle depression will be a problem because the top of the L in the name La Bonte is too small to bridge the gap. I decided I will make a small rectangular patch to put over the depression and then paint it blue with some left-over paint I made to shoot the body. It's such a small area it will not be a problem.

Good question, Dave. Probably just put the decal right over the opening and hope it bridges the gap okay. Or if it will fit under the handle opening that would be okay. I am not doing any more body work or painting to this thing unless its polishing. Just not gonna do it. No sir, I refuse.

You could fill the handle with strip and the keyhole with rod and cover it with the top of the "E" in Labonte.

The left door was okay just covering it with the decal but the right door I had to make a rectangular patch and touch it up with some left-over mixed paint I had. The top of the L was not big enough to cover the depression where the handle goes on the right door. So far, the decaling is turning out pretty good. A tiny drop of dish detergent goes a long way in the decal water for being able to push the decal around into the right place.

Here is a sneak peek on the decal work. Should look better after all the decals are futured.

You know, guys. The more I look at that left door the more it bugs me. I'm going to have to add a plate like I did to the right door. I will only have to replace the T and the E in the decal to do it. I always make about 5 extra decals per position on my sheets just for this reason. Better than printing out a whole new sheet just to get one decal. The ink is much cheaper than the paper so if I have extra decals at the end, it's no big deal.

having an extra decal sheet on hand sure has saved me lots of headaches and re-ordering

Here are some shots of my progress so far and the two main decal sheets Im using.

I have to remember to put two small decals on the dash and add the window net before I future the body. When that's done this baby should finally be finished and ready for the Showroom. Luckily, I made the body removable from the chassis. It snaps in place.

Nice work. Heading for the showcase for sure.
