Thanks, Donato. Slowly but surely, she's coming along.

Some more progress. Not much left to finish the axle. It's the last subassembly I need to finish before I prime and paint all the parts that make up the chassis. Of course, I also have to finish repainting the body.

MarkJ

Just a little more tweaking on the axle and need to add an oil pump and fanbelt.

Another impressive masterpiece from your bench, beautiful work.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

MarkJ

Thanks, Rick. Almost finished with the axle.

Thanks, Steve. I appreciate the kind words. Actually, turning out better than I thought it would. I just can't seem to find a good picture of the belt driven pump. It's hidden in all the ref pictures I have. Just have to guess, I guess.

MarkJ

Finally found a ref picture of the pump but it is so small that after I blew it up to see it better you cannot make out a lot about the way it actually looks but I think I can get in the ballpark with it. So far, all I need to do is add a fan belt and a bolt to the pump pulley and I'm going to call the axle finished.

MarkJ

Thanks, Donato. This part has actually been fun.

MarkJ

Finally finished the rear axle. I added some ports so I can plumb it if I can come up with some braided hose. I'm hoping the chrome spray will work to do that.

MarkJ

Finally found a ref picture showing how the anti-sway bar is hooked up and it also confirms that the axle is correct for a 1989 camaro IROC race car.
