I recently acquired one of these kits from a flea market. I'm pretty fascinated with the history and it's a really cool kit. I'm a Chevy guy mostly but I love this style all around.

That being said, I have a question about the tires. Did the tires come with the Goodyear lettering painted or etched on? This kit had them on already. Just curious!

The tires were the same as all the other Monogram kits at that time, just tire colored raised letters. Model Empire also had the first Buick Regal in a plain black and white box with no decals like the Tbird. Don't know if they ever did a run of the Monte Carlo. Back then if you had the money, Monogram would sell you the kits and you could finish packaging them like you want with decals you would sub out. Sports Image and Buck Fever are some who come to mind who did this.

Thanks that's really interesting that someone did the tires for the car but nothing else. Or maybe they are aftermarket as they did seem a little softer than the typical monogram tires
