hey y'all, i banged this one out in about a week.  i started with an old-school Sammy Swindell #1 TMC Challenger sprint car kit to start with, added a new(er) edition of the chassis (it was molded in white and i didn't feel like priming a black chassis for blue paint).  apparently the chassis was somewhat updated between that kit mold and the later ones (Steve Kinser Bass Pro).  so all the older parts didn't quite fit right, mostly the rear bumper.  this kit is about as stock as i like to build, i added shocks from Jaye, modified the headers, added a beadlock and spinner on the left rear and wing supports.  nothing else mod wise.  yellow paint is Tamiya yellow and the cage is Tamiya blue with dull coat added.  decals are from PrintIt.  pretty easy to work with.  the real car used the same nerf bars as what the #8D i posted the other week, and i really felt lazy and didn't want to mess with them.  hence the stock kit (and horribly incorrect) nerfs on this build.

it amazes me when i look up these old sprint cars, just how all over the place contingencies are.  can be different stickers from one side to the other, different layout, and so on.  far cry from the cars today where everything is lined up.

oh yeah, the stats thing.  Wolfgang ran this car for the first 39 World of Outlaws races, winning 3 of them.  he also ran the #49 for the United Sprint Association series and when he left this ride, he moved into the #18 (not sure of the livery for that particular car).

next up... going back to the fenders.  gonna build the black and white 2001 Goodwrench Monte Carlo that Kevin Harvick drove in his first Winston Cup race at Rockingham.  decals and kit should be here Monday from Mikes.

As always, a great looking build from your bench.

Absolutely beautiful build. So neat, clean and realistic. Great work.
