:)  Guys, I have decided that I will not be showing my models any longer.  I will still be building, mainly to fill time, and hope to go to the Memphis show again next year.

If y'all will put up with me, I'll still hang around here,  enjoy your creations,  comment here and there, and try to be as helpful to anyone as I can.

But approaching 78, my skills, eyesight, and  patience are dwindling.  I do sloppy work, and there are things I used to do that I skip now.  I cut corners and take short cuts.  It is embarrassing to put out stuff that I know is not quite right.

And, I am not really interested in learning a new photo sharing operation.

It hits everybody sooner, or later, I suppose.

I have shared many happy hours here, with you, and  at Fred's  and you have taught me many building tricks.   I have done things that I never would have with out you.  But things are just different now.

Like the old racers, eventually, things catch up with you.

My friend, will really miss your builds, but still look forward to you inspiring, fun-filled posts.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

:)  I appreciate that, Charlie.  Perhaps I will change my mind somewhere down the road.

I don't want to put out no junk.

John,

I understand the way you feel. We all need to take a break from time to time. I really enjoy looking at your builds.
I hope you get refreshed and get back into build again.
I also understand learning a new photo posting site. It's a challenge and I don't like it either.

If you don't want to learn a new photo site, just e mail me or someone on the forum pictures and we will be glad to post them for you and you can add your comments.

:)  Thanks to everyone.  I will see how it goes.

My bench is clear, and everything is back in the closet  for now.  Since I have played with the cars off and on since I was 12 years old, I doubt this is the end.

When you get the chance to build and finish one, email me the pix. I'll post'em for ya! I don't want to miss anything...

:)  Let's see.  Where are my glasses ?

I appreciate all the interest and help.  I  have 4 started, but none close to finished.  If I get one done, I'll try to handle it myself.  I have one all uglied up, intentionally, which I never do.  Maybe should just go ahead and do them all that way.

I am thinking that on one of those cold, wet, dreary, dark Mississippi winter days, waiting for sunshine and  weekend football, I'll probably tackle ( pun intended ) Flicker.

We will see what transpires.

John, what makes you think any of our builds are on the upswing? Heck, mine have been in a death spiral for years. I like to think I have mastered some new techniques that have kept me from totally embarrassing myself, but the truth is my builds aren't what they used to be. Eyesight, steadiness of hand, and the patients to do detailed work, are things of the past. Don't be so hard on yourself.

 :)  Thanks, Marty.

I'll be dog if y'all haven't about convinced me to renew my license for one more  year.

Let me take a little break, and then I'll probably show up at the pit  gate with another piece.
