This is a shelf replica of the Bobby Abel number 2 raced in central Pa in 1964-65 and 66.
Bobby was the car owner and driver. He raced at Lincoln, Hagerstown, Williams Grove, and Susquehanna speedways.
He won many feature events with this car.

This car got new sheet metal every year. The lettering. graphics and a few other things changed slightly over the three year period.

David,

To answer your question I stripped the plastic off a piece of plastic coated wire and just used the wire.
I used the bumper from the Edmunds kit, they are fairly small.

Thanks again everyone for the nice comments. It means a lot coming from the skilled builders on this forum.

For Buzzie 00, I have a lot of great memories from this time period also. Building these replica's helps me relive the racing in the sixties.

I love your work on these replicas! Keep them coming Bob.

Thanks ARCA guy,

I have another build out of the box and on the bench. This will be a 1961 replica build using  32 Ford five window coupe.

Great replica!  Looks like an old-school Knoxville super-modified.

Bob,

I think the central Pa. cars, in this time period, were very similar to the Knoxville cars.

Bob....you sure did a GREAT job on this replica. Looking at the car from the side profile shots really gives that Super Modified feeling and look! Man...I can hear that puppy smok'in out of 4 and down the home straight!!

Thanks Gary,

It sure brings back a lot of good memories, I watched this car race many times.
Part of what I enjoy about building replica's is looking at the pictures, study history and reliving the past while building.
